Music festivals have always intrigued me because I just love to see peoples' everyday style transform into their creative and outspoken fairy tale version of it. The fashion gets better every year with people creating trends from bodysuits to fun accessories, to every style of denim imaginable, festival fashion is definitely the ultimate summertime look. Here are a few sets I've put together for some of the festivals I'll be keeping up with this summer! Tomorrowland is in my opinion the biggest and most recognized EDM festival, simply because it's all about the music, and there's very little publicity for them. It's in Belgium at the end of July and literally looks like you're in a fairy tale (x, x, x) with guests like Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, and Lost Frequencies bringing the experience to life! For this look, I took the idea of a youth and fairy tales, and opted for a white slip dress, black and gold accessories, with a flower crown and paired it with pink sunnies! Shop the set here Although Lollapalooza in Chicago is more familiar, the ones recently in Brazil and Argentina are what have my attention, and from what I saw online, this was one for the books! The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, The 1975, G-easy, and The Weeknd were just a few who performed this year For this outfit, I took a plain black dress and loafers (for comfort) and paired them with silver and gold jewelry, and the Mulberry Effie Satchel! Shop the set here Aside from Tomorrowland, Veld is definitely my favourite of the music festivals - even more than Coachella - because not only is it right here in Toronto, but the event itself just feels safely familiar and isn't confusing with like 6 different stages to find. Since the heat here can get crazy even by the lake and with very little shade, a classic tank and denim shorts are my go to for outdoor events like this! I paired them with sandals, a crossbody, and a fun feathered necklace Shop the set here Probably one of the most famous festivals out there, Coachella is among the most star-studded events of the summer, with celeb faces like Vanessa Hudgens and Jared Leto coming every year, fashion is at it's best! It kicks off on April 14th (2 days away!) and some people we can expect to see perform are Future, Tory Lanez, Kehlani, Lady Gaga and DJ Khaled This is probably my favourite of the four looks because the accessories just fit so well! Basics like a cami and shorts look so badass with the kimono, boots and metal jewlery! Shop the set here Check out more summer festival outfits on my Polyvore!

Jacket - Robert Rodriguez at Sears Cami - H&M Jeans - Garage Bag - Call It Spring Flats - Sirens All of these items are at least a season old and sold out, but shop a similar/look for less here! **Really sorry, rainy day lighting is so hard to work with :( Blue denim and a white tee have unofficially become my weekend uniform for spring because it's honestly all I like to wear "off-duty. Now that the weather is (finally) warming up, my goal is to drift away from dark colours and throw on some lighter tones...wish me luck. When I’m not wearing the everyday all-black ensemble that I'm seen in, believe it or not I'm super casual on the weekends with blue or black denim and a just a t-shirt or hoodie! Shop the post! T-shirt: Sears (the v-neck version of this) Jeans: Garage (these are a few years old, similar here) And I paired it with my favourite bag from H&M here! Whether they’re fitted, flared, or slouchy, one of spring 2017’s biggest trends isn't about which style of jeans you put on, but what is on them - specifically, with fun, chic embroidery/patches. Carefully stitched denim has made a reappearance on the runway, and I’ve now seen a lot of bloggers and celebrities strut them as well! Recently I went to Topshop as an assignment for school that asked me identify their basic denim and fashion denim, and I basically gave a review of what I saw in detail. It was so much fun to try them on, and styling an embroidered jacket or pair of jeans for example, could be endless. Wherever I looked I saw embroidery; on jeans, jackets, even accessories!
All of the items in the photo above can be found at Topshop, shop the post here! Here's a list of 18 completely random and borderline irrelevant facts about me :))
Images used are not mine, and are credited: here, here, here, and here. One thing that is helping me get through the bitter cold of what Toronto has to offer is the thinking about, and planning for, the travelling I will be doing this summer. I've already begun planning what to pack in terms of clothing (obviously..), and a colour palette that I'm really being drawn to is that of the cool, earthy tones. One of my favourite bloggers, who is featured above (blog/instagram) is currently in Bali and I love the way she presents these colours in her photos. Above I've created a mini mood board that's basically my inspiration for this summer's travel attire. Because it will be warm, I'm going for a lot of whites, blues, and neutral colours; items that are light and airy to keep me cool. Sometimes you just need to disconnect yourself and enjoy your own company for a bit <3 After a few presentations and an exam over the last week, plus a pretty busy weekend, some me-time is very much needed. I'm enjoying a Van Houtte vanilla bean coffee from Humber’s on-campus cafe, about to begin an "Empire" marathon in excitement for the season premiere tomorrow! https://soundcloud.com/songsbyquincy/me-time-1 Clearly I don’t have a very wide colour palette, but I’m working on it...sort of. Here are some of my current closet staples - the basics edition! Calvin Klein Cotton Bralette - The comfiest bralettes I’ve come across so far, and there are so many different ways of styling them! I find that even swapping a plain cami/tank with one of these can elevate a casual look into something a lot more unique. Adidas Originals Superstar Leather Sneakers - After all the hype over these last year, I decided to look into this sneaker trend, and I really like it. The material makes it look minimal and relaxed compared to other sneakers I've seen, which I love! Victoria Beckham Star textured leather bag - If you follow me on Polyvore you've probably seen this VB crossbody at least 400 times. Unlike my other bags (which are big enough to hold everything but the kitchen sink), having a small one on hand is super convenient. I do own this one by U.S Polo Assn. and it’s the perfect size, but sadly sold out. One Umbrella “Crowd Walk Tee” ft. Tory Lanez - Who doesn’t love buying concert t-shirts? I got this one when I went to see Tory Lanez back in December and I’m in love with it! And for anyone who is curious, I stand by the name of it 100%, because he literally walks. on. the. crowd. H&M High-waisted torn skinny jeans - Skinny Jeans are really the only type of bottoms I wear (plus leggings of course) and these ones from H&M with a crazy amount of rips on them bring so much creativity to a look! “Return to Tiffany” Heart tag Charm Bracelet - Jewelry is my favourite way to accessorize, and although this one is so out of my price range, I love every detail about it! I own a similar one to this in gold from Guess, but I find silver to be minimal. “VIBOOM” knitted cardigan from Vila - A neutral coloured cardigan has always been a must to me because not only am I always cold, but there are endless ways to wear them, regardless of the season. We see it in the fall and winter paired with boots, in the spring with flats or sneakers, and now long cardigans (maybe not this thick) even make appearances during festival season too! Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter - All I can say about this product is that the lady at Sephora gave me some to try and it is life changing. . . Shop the post here Thanks for reading! |
